Scot Seat owners take to the driving seat

Fulfilling a lifetime ambition, Alex Young, the founder and Chairman of the Scot Seat Group of Fenwick, Ayrshire along with his son Jonathan, Managing Director of the Scot Seat Group are competing in the 2016 Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique starting from Paisley on Wednesday 27th January.

Driving their historic 1967 Volvo Amazon 123 GT, which has previously completed the event, their aim, alongside experienced navigator Michael Hyrons to complete the rally in a high placing if not indeed winning their class.

Motor sport is in Alex’s blood having started competing from the age of 16 in an Izeta bubble car and he was a founder member of the East Ayrshire Car Club.

Alex gave up competing in motorsport due to business commitments but was involved once more when son Jonathan started racing quads before entering into car circuit racing and latterly winning the Scottish Open Rally Championship in 2008.

The father son pairing are not only fulfilling a lifelong ambition competing in the rally they are also using the event to raise money for the Outward Bound Trust (www.outwardbound.org.uk). The Outward Bound Trust is an educational charity that uses the outdoors to help develop young people from all walks of life. The Young family have supported the Outward Bound Trust for many years now and are hoping to raise in excess of £15,000 for the trust through competing in the rally. http://www.justgiving.com/ScotSeatGroup
